These are hard times
I look at the news every day, I don't think anything will turn out fine
And I've been losing sleep
Because global warming is out of control and there are fascists marching in the streets
Sometimes I want to quit
I could just get drunk and watch TV and let it all go to shit
Because things are looking bleak
The future's looking frightening
But there's one thing I know:
I'd rather go down fighting
We're lost if we don't try,
Try to do the right thing
But if we're going down
I'm gonna go down fighting
It's hard not to cry
About a world where ignorance is cultivated and facts denounced as lies
And the odds are long
Because they've got all the guns and money--we've got each other and some songs
Are we too far gone?
To tell you the truth, I'm not so sure but we've got to struggle on
